How many trees died....

... to build this little lodge?

Beaver technology has clearly moved on somewhat from the olden days of logs and wattle but as the new beaver lodge takes shape in Isaan it's not just the forests that are dying.

SH3 is frankly on the brink as attendance slumped yesterday to a figure that would have shamed even the chronically under-supported Full Moon Hash. Ok, so the weather was crap and there were competing attractions, and a lot of people are not in town, but unless there is a swing away from the "I'll go next week" mentality that has crept into hashing in Songkhla  there is going to come a point at which it will no longer be possible to pretend that SH3 is viable. Matters are not helped by the sudden upswing in beer-aversion and that has another week to go before normality is resumed; but the beer truck was a needless luxury yesterday as a couple of 6-packs from 7-11 would have covered what was consumed.

But a good run yesterday with all 11 hounds, only 9 of whom were human, hitting one or other of the trails and only one of the two hares and the beer truck driver keeping guard at the run site. And most people went on-on to Thung Jaeng afterwards even if the karaoke machine was not called into use. But, as the lady said,"we can't go on like this"!

  1. No worries, it's wood-free. I was afraid that the termites would snack on it, or that I might.
