Sadao H3 yesterday

Was it really 7 years ago that ... ? You know the rest!

And the answer of course is 'yes it was' because there we were again in Dannock to celebrate the jubilee year.

Well some of us were. A combination of work, bereavements, enforced displacements and hangovers shrunk the attendance somewhat and once the usual crop of late arriving Malaysians had made it across the border, the runners were just about able to squeeze into a single song theow, with another half dozen or so choosing to find other forms of entertainment in Dannock while the rest of us were following the trail jointly laid by Just Rotten and Hash Pimp.

Jointly... hmmm... maybe competitively would have been a better description with the Hash Pimp section of the run (thick yellow line on the picture) heading off towards the lake while the Rotten section (Red line) headed to where the Song Theow awaited at the water tower. The resulting schism saw Only a Yolk romping home as first runner on paper, while front runners Star Soccer, Boh Geh, Egghead and a couple of other Malaysian hounds set off on Hash Pimp's bit of the run as darkness fell and had to be rescued by Just Rotten somewhere around the Water View Restaurant.

The circle was held and the food consumed at an interesting venue outside the 7-11 at the end of Soi 9 which despite its somewhat temporary air was a surprisingly effective location and attracted rather more observers than participants, most of whom got iced but stayed dry as there is apparently a drought in Dannock.

Having lead the pack home, Only a Yolk then proceded to dominate the nominations for sinners for variously short cutting, avaricious beer token behavior and having the temerity to suggest that the food at Sadao H3 always consisted of chicken curry. Rotten was later iced for having lied about that one as, sure enough, along with the barbecued kebabs there were large vats of chicken curry and rice to wash down the copious free beer.

Another chaotic afternoon which is what we go to Dannock for. The day Sadao H3 gets itself properly organised, starts its runs on time, always ends at the right place and finds a permanent friendly venue, will be the day it ceases to be worth going to!
Thanks Rotten and supporting cast for a great afternoon's entertainment.
On! On!
