And for those who may be interested, above is a close
depiction of where the runs actually went. Due to some spirited running by Sex
Sprinter (again..!) and rather lackadaisical searching for paper at the first
two checks by the other hounds, both checkbacks were neatly excised from the
run. Having avoided the two checkbacks, it was left to Sex Sprinter to find all
the false trails which mostly went nowhere up dead-end hills, thus saving the
following pack from any strenuous hill climbing, almost. Most long runners
would thus have done a shortened version of the long run, reduced to approximately
5kms. The short run would have been around 2.5km for anyone avoiding the false
trail between the gullies after the beerstop.
