Prodigal son

Brilliant run today from Silly Pants & wife . . . well, brilliant in that it lost both Lady of the Lamp and Tsunami (pictured above), and in totally different directions. The Lady made it back under his (her?) own steam but Tsunami had to be searched and rescued. Does it get any sweeter?

Webmaster and hash flash outta here. See you all next month!

  1. Brilliant run? He couldn't have been on the same run as me - wait a minute he wasn't!
Let's be realistic, the first third was drivel - a meaningless diversion up the hill to the first check, then a second check which had the pack struggling because there was so much old paper around -sending Tsunami, LotL and Sex Si off on their travels and causing Beaver to opt for a gentle jog round the roads. The small band of stalwarts who followed the trail were then sent up the hill by the most difficult possible route and after some fairly nice running round the hill hit a check at which they were mostly sent off on another meaningless loop before rejoining the main trail about 200 meters from the check they started off from.
From there things got better and the beer stop definitely helped! By then, Yardo and Pong Ning who had just headed up the hill at the first check had been found by yours truly who had just avoided the meaningless loop and from there the run in was mostly ok, although one definitely had the feeling that the hares were mostly ad-libbing in the absence of anything sensible like a recce or a GPS!

  2. Well this half-marathon training thing is a great excuse to bail out of any really crappy run and just do a nice jog. Then having a few cold beers while people like LotL and Tsunami are still out there lost in the jungle is just a bonus.
