The GM has gone astray .....again

Once again our wise and worldly GM has taken himself to a higher level than the rest of us mere mortals, by following paper where it was not, at the very top of ridges never before traversed by commoner hashers. By doing so he apparently found nirvana, or least wonderful trails that the world bound hares Yardstick & Kii Leum had, in their ignorance, completely ignored. Let us hope and pray that when he comes down from the mountain, that he will share with us, his tablets of wisdom and let us too experience the joys of his enlightenment, or at least follow in his footsteps on these wonderful tracks.

Anyway enough of that crap and lets get back to the facts of the real run. They were in simple terms, a long run which had an overall length of 8.3kms, including the 10 checks & 8 false trails, with a modest total ascent of 272 metres, although the hares never got it up, much over 120m above the runsite. The short run (in blue) was a lengthy 4.0kms, with a total ascent of 117 metres, including a false trail at the top of the ridge. The short run took about 1 hour for most of the participants to complete and was apparently well enjoyed by the short runners.

The long runners meanwhile were forced to drink beer at the halfway point on the run and completed the run in about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Below is what the run looked like to most of the hashers who completed the long run.

  1. That was about as good as runs get. And bonus points for misplacing Egghead.
