Impossible!

It's amazing what you can do with Photoshop isn't it? These pictures are clearly fakes and yet if you didn't know better you would swear that they are pictures of beautiful sunsets over Hatyai taken at recent HH3 runs. But we all know that such pictures are completely impossible since there just isn't enough light to take photographs of sunsets without using such a big F stop that you lose all the detail etc. etc.
Who'd be a photographer huh?

Non, non! Ze point is zat in a high contrast scene such as zis, one can expose for ze land or the sky, but not for both in the same photo. If exposed for ze land, ze sky will be washed out. If exposed for ze sky (as here), ze land will become an indistinguishable mass of black. Zis may be fine for ze common man, but for ze true artist . . . zut alors!

Solution? Take two photos, one exposed on the sky and one exposed on the land (or 'ze land' as apparently they say in the trade) use photoshop to merge together...

Perhaps 'ze true artist' is still stuck in the time of hypo and red lights (well, I can believe the red lights)

On On to greater and better and higher things
