Probably the last full moon run of 2011

Unless Mummy relents and allows HFMH3 a piece of the New Year's Eve action, the last full moon run of 2011 will take place this coming Friday at 7:00 p.m. The hares are Egghead and probably Kii Leum as long as a) his foot's all better, b) he's got time, as he's the hare on Saturday and c) he hasn't forgotten.
The run site will be: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4k and turn left then go 5.2k and turn left then go 500m to the big sala on the left.

Usual stuff applies: Bring a hand light if you want to stretch your legs (and there will be a short run as well as a long run this time around). Beer will be on sale at 100 Baht for 3 cans, but if you want to bring your own along to share with yer mates there'll be a communal ice box provided, and contributions of food are always welcome, which can be raw if you want as the BBQ will be on hand to grill it to a crisp.

Saturday's SH3 run and HH3's offering on Sunday are still in the melting pot so watch this space for details.

5k by the light of the silvery moon

25k? Scandalous!

So just to reassure you, this week's full moon run which will take place on Wednesday will be a modest 5k; honest!

Details are:

Hatyai Full Moon Hash run #77 or thereabouts. Wednesday, August 17th, 7:00 p.m.
Hare: Kai Jeow
Misdirections: From Songkhla, take the Old Hatyai road for 4.7k beyond the Ko Yo intersection and turn left for about 4k then left for 1k to the run site which will be at the end of the immaculate new tarmac section of what was formerly a pleasant and gentle track through the rubber but is now a three lane highway to nowhere.
(From Hatyai, turn right at Kuan Hin Mai/Wat Nern Salai and go 4k etc.)

All the usual stuff applies: Bring beer to share or rely on the copious supplies of full moon ale (3 cans for 100 Baht) which by special request of Knackerwurst will include a case of Tiger (but perversely may not include any Leo, so if you are really Chang/Tigerphobic bring your own!)
Contributions of food always welcome and if you don't want to trust to the light of the silvery moon bring a handlight or one of those miners' lamp thingies. Oh, and there will be a zimmer frame-able short run available for the pediatricly challenged, so Yardo, there's no real excuse for not coming along to keep us all amused!

No announcement yet about Songkhla Hash next week as we still don't have any hares, but no doubt there will be a flood of volunteers on Wednesday when details will be given out. Either that or start checking out what's on telly on Saturday afternoon!

More runs for your money

With the addition of the full moon run on Monday (May 16th), those of us who enjoyed yesterday's pussy run can now fit three runs in this week. Directions are to go to the New Yala road probably about 3.5k and look for a sign - probably on the right. The hare is After Ours and the usual stuff applies: bring a handlight, some beer if you feel like it and some food if you think you'll be hungry afterwards. Full moon special brew should be on sale at 3 cans for 100 Baht and the run should start at 7:00 p.m.

Just a reminder as well that today (Sunday 15th May)'s HH3 run is from a runsite just past Wat Keow Kloy on the right and not as advertised below. The hare is still Nicheow.

3 in 1

No shortage of runs this weekend with Songkhla, Hatyai and Hatyai Full Moon H3's all running within a period of just over 24 hours and the true diehards camping out between runs at the run site, which is at the top of the hill above Prem's Place.
SH3 details are:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers run #1554, Saturday March 19, 2011: 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Gaseous Clay Sex Sprinter and Buk Toy
Misdirections. From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Yala road for 800 meters and turn left. Follow the road up the hill and beyond Prem's Place for about 2 km and look for signs to the run site.

The full moon run will follow the SH3 circle and will be from the same run site and will be set by the same hares. It will be followed by a BBQ and everyone intending to stay on should contribute some food. Some beer wouldn't go amiss either as the SH3 beer truck will be departing at the termination of the circle and although there will be some free beer contributed by the hares, all of whom are celebrating birthdays this week, it is not intended to sell beer during the remainder of the evening. Don't forget your hand-light, and if you are intending to stay over night some form of camping gear would be advisable.

Sunday's HH3 run will start at it's usual time of .... and will be from the same run site, or as close to it as is practical bearing in mind that the whole hill will by then be strewn with paper from the two runs the day before! The identity of the hares is a closely guarded secret known only to themselves.

Camping it up

There's a CHANGE OF RUNSITE for Saturday's SH3 run, and we will now be running from behind Prem's Place. This is to accomodate the Full Moon run and campout mentioned below. So the details now are:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers run #1537, Saturday 20th November 2010; 4:00 p.m.
Hares: Sex Sprinter and Buk Toy
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Yala road for 800 meters and turn left. Follow the road for about 1.2k up the hill, 400 meters past Prem's place. Park on the LEFT hand side of the road then walk across the road to the run site on the right

Please don't try to park on the right as there is very limited space and it is difficult to turn round once you are in. There is plenty of space to park on the left of the road but if you are not intending to stay overnight or you don't fancy driving up the hill, you might want to park in the car park at Prem's Place and walk up or catch a ride with someone else to the actual run site. If you are intending to stay overnight then it is probably a good idea to get there early to grab a decent tent site!

Some time after the SH3 circle there will be:

Hatyai Full Moon Hash run #72, Saturday 20th November 2010; 7:00 p.m.
Hares: Sex Sprinter and Buk Toy
Misdirections: Stay at the SH3 run site!

Following the Full Moon run there will be over-night camping across the road from the run site. As usual contributions of food will be welcome and there will be a BBQ available. We will be selling beer in the normal way at the SH3 run and there will also be a limited supply of Full Moon beer on sale for the Full Moon run, but it is suggested that everyone intending to stay overnight should bring along most of what they want to drink.

Just to add to the fun, we're expecting about 20 guests from Malacca H3 on Saturday for the Songkhla Hash run so if you see anyone who looks like a hasher wandering up the hill, do stop and pick them up!

The Hatyai H3 run on Sunday (21st November, 4:30 p.m.) will be set by Nichaeow and will be from somewhere down Poonakan Road in the vicinity of the Gam Ling Reservoir (from the Ko Yo Intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k; turn left for 8k then right at Wat Keow Kloy for about 8k and look for a sign on the left.

Unclean Full Moon beach party and run: updated

This month's Full Moon run will be tomorrow (Thursday, 23rd September) and in contrast to the amazing healthy municipality's plans for the weekend, will be an unclean affair featuring lots of flat wet stuff and lots of wet alcoholic stuff afterwards. But the runsite will be on the beach so there'll be some salty wet stuff to dump the hares in afterwards if you feel that way inclined!
Misdirections are:
Hatyai Full Moon Hash run #70: Thursday September 23rd 2010: 7:00 p.m. 'ish
Hares: R2D2 and Moo Sahb/Only a Yolk
Misdirections: From the Kao Saeng intersection take the old Yala road for about 2.7k to the first set of traffic lights (i.e. the ones before the zoo turn) and turn left. Go about 400 meters until you hit the beach road then turn right and go 200 metes to the run site on the left.
Usual stuff: Bring a handlight; bring some food if you feel like it and bring beer if you want to share it, or buy Full Moon special brew at 100 Baht for 3 cans.

Wann'a perfect view?

Yes, Whatever your taste in views, Saturday's SH3 run has it all: Perfect country, perfect beer and perfect.... we'll leave that one to your imagination.

And here are the details:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers run #1520
Saturday July 24th, 2010, 4:30 p.m.
Hare: Egghead
Misdirections: from the Kao Saeng intersection take the old Yala road for 16k and turn right for 3.5k then left just after the big tree and follow signs/paper for about 2k to the run site. (From Hatyai take a right at Nam Noi off the old Songkhla road and go 12k then turn right just before the big tree and follow signs and paper to the run site)

On Sunday, there will be no HH3 run but there will be a Full Moon H3 run. The details are:
Hatyai Full Moon H3 run #68, Sunday July 25th 2010; 7:00 p.m.
Hare: Kai Jiew
Misdirections:
From the Ko Yo intersection, take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 4.2k then left for 1.5k to the run site on the left.
Usual stuff applies: Bring some food and some beer or buy HFM special brew (of which there will be copious supplies, in the spirit of the alcohol free holiday on Monday) at 3 cans for 100 Baht. And don't forget your handlight!

The looooongest run of the year

It's midsummer again so this week's SH3 run is the longest run of the year or it will be when you add in the Full Moon H3 run which, if reports are correct will make up the third leg of the run for those who still have the will or energy after the first two legs.

Misdirections are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers run #1516, Saturday June 26th 2010, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Sex Sprinter and Buk Toy.
Run site: Prem's place (Ko Yo intersection, left, 0.8k turn left and go about 1k).

The actual run site (technically the C site) will be slightly above the Home of Faith on the road going up the hill but the hares request that you park at the house itself and walk up to the run site unless you are A) the beer truck, or B) intending to camp out at the top of the hill (D site) after the full moon run.

The long run itself will actually start from an undisclosed A site and there will be a B site which will provide light refreshments and will also be the starting point for a medium run. The hares will provide transport from the C site to the A and B site and probably from the C to the D site and back if you want to come to the full moon on-after but don't want to do the run and don't want to camp out afterwards.

If you are intending to do the full moon run then don't forget your handlight and if you are going to camp out at the top of the hill then bring a tent etc. Beer is being sponsored by SH3, HH3 and the full moon Hash but the beer truck will be around as usual to dispense cash-beer if you can't wait for the freebies. Food is up to you, i.e. as usual so don't feel shy about bringing along some food to share after one or both runs.

HH3 are running on Sunday and the run site is near the True Moves tower on the New Hatyai road (From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 8k and look for a sign on the left). Off T is the hare so Winge and Minge (you know who you are!) should be in good voice. The starting time is somewhere between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m.
On! On!

A big dark lay from Yardo

Unretouched photo of YARDO breaking the totally bogus last false trail, leaving the FRBs stranded in man-eating shiggy.

Here it is in all its glory, Yardstick's extra-long skinny writhing monster of a full moon run. Click to expand!

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Aaaaaarrrrrrughhhhhh!

It's that time of the month again when the blood runs.....
cold, the flesh creeps and Yardo© rises from his crypt, howls at the moon and comes out to run with his pack.

And this month, Yardo is appearing in person at the Hatyai Full Moon Hash run which will take place tomorrow night (Thursday May 27th, 7:00 p.m.) at Prem's place (From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Yala road for 800 meters; turn left and go about 1k until you see signs of life, probably at the top of the hill outside the Home of Faith itself). Hare is Inch Dick, Yardo's mild-mannered alter ego.
Usual stuff applies: bring a handlight, some beer and some food to share if you feel that way inclined. Full Moon Special Brew will be on sale at 3 cans for 100 Baht..
AND... the hare suggests you come roughly on time or call someone to let them know you are on your way as this will likely be a surprise A - B run with transport provided from the run site to the A site around about the time we normally start running (7:00 p.m.).

Saturday's SH3 details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers run #1512: Saturday May 29th, 4:30 p.m.
Hare: Beavershot
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Hatyai road for 9k and turn left, then follow the track by the klong to the run site.

Sunday's HH3 run will be set by Sex Printer and as likely as not Toy Boy will join him. The run site is advertised as being in never-before-run-territory: From the Ko Yo intersection take the Old Hatyai road for 4k and turn left for 4+k then turn left at the hash sign and go in about 300meters.
On! On!

Full moon update

Latest information on the run site tonight:
From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Yala road for 3.6k and turn right then go about 100 meters down the track to the run site on the left.
Be there!

Hares: Sex Sprinter and Buk Toy
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo Intersection take the Old Hatyai Road for 4.6k and turn left for 8k, then turn right at Wat Keow Kloy into Th. Poonakan and go about 1k then start looking for the Hash sign on the left.

On Sunday (April 25th, 4:00 p.m.) HH3 are running with Union Hash and the run site is further down Poonakan on the right (From the Ko Yo Intersection take the Old Hatyai Road for 4.6k and turn left for 8k, then turn right at Wat Keow Kloy into Th. Poonakan and go 7.5k to the run site on the right.)

Next Wednesday (April 28th) is the next full moon so GM'ette is suggesting running on that day. Any volunteers for hares and/or ideas for a run site?

Eggsorbitant

Don't forget the full moon run tomorrow night (2nd March 2010) 7:00 p.m. at Egg Towers. Transport to A site and the beginning of the short run will leave as soon after 7:00 p.m. as possible. Barbecue afterwards: bring some some food to cremate and some beer as well if you want, although Full Moon special brew will be available at 3 cans for 100 Baht.

Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4k and turn left then follow the road for 5.2k and turn right through the temple arch. Follow signs to the run site.

Hares: Kai Jeow and Moo Sahb

This weeks runny stuff

As far more eloquently expressed below, the full moon run is tonight (Thursday).
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Hatyai road for about 8km. Do a u-turn and go back about 800m to the runsite at a no-name restaurant, about 50m in on the left. Run starts around 7 o'clock. Bring a handlight and some beer (although full moon beer will be on sale at 3 cans for 100 Baht) but not food which we should buy from the restaurant.

Songkhla H3 on Saturday is at the same run site as last Saturday. Details are:
SH3 run # 1494, January 30th, 4:00 p.m.
Hares: Only a Yolk and Egghead
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo Intersection take the new Yala road for 3.5k to the run site on the left.

There is no official Hatyai H3 run this weekend as we will be joining Union H3 for their 150th run party on Sunday. If you haven't already booked a ticket, see Sex Sprinter tonight at the full moon run or on Saturday. 150 Baht gets you a run, food and beer and who knows what else. The run is due to start at 3:00 p.m. and the run site is about 7k down Th. Poonakan from Wat Keow Kloy (Old Hatyai road 4.6k, left 8k, turn right) on the left, in one of the new Moobahns.

Finally there's a quiz nite at the Office Bar on Friday (29th January at 8'ish) when the shadowy figure of Teacher Mick will be taking on all comers. All proceeds go to the orphanage so come along and support this worthy cause (and you can support Stickyand Beaver as well as they stumble through the intellectual jungle or just get pissed and depraved as usual)
On! On!

Come to the Full Moon Run, or else....

...or else the Boyotes are gonna gitcha!

Yes, the lunatics from Sunday night have been given special leave from the assylum for another outing on Wednesday night, this time to make sure that YOU turn up to the Full Moon Hash run which is:

Hatyai Full Moon H3 run #61, Wednesday December 30th 2009, 7:00 p.m.
Hares: Kai Jeow and (probably) Moo Sahb
Misdirections: From the Kao Saeng intersection take the old Yala road for 2.85k and turn right through the Zoo archway then go 0.7k and turn left for another 1.1k then right for 150 meters to the run site at the Cwm Sook Restaurant.

There will be long and short runs, and beer (Chang, Leo and Heineken) as well as food available from the restaurant at very reasonable prices (i.e. you don't need to bring any this time around), but don't forget to bring a handlight whichever run you decide to do!

Saturday's SH3 run, all being well will be as follows:

Songkhla H3 run #1490, Saturday January 2nd 2010, 4:00 p.m.
Hare: Gan Yao
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4k and turn left for 6.5k to the run site on the left

And Sunday's HH3 run will be from somewhere close to the Orbotor office at Tung Yai (old Hatyai road 10k, turn left for 3.5k then turn right and go about 300 meters and look for signs). Hare is rumored to be Porky Sex but don't be surprised if the Beelzebubian figure of Off T is lurking threateningly in the background!

Anyone got any idea what's happening on New Year's Eve?
A Happy New Year to all my readers!
