The Gimp sets a run.

This week's SH3 run is being set by our only slightly used Gimp with assistance from our overused On Sec.  Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1977, Saturday, June 1st, 2019, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Lot Rakaa and Egghead
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 3.2k and turn left then follow the road for 900m and turn left in front of the gate into Moobahn PSU for 200m then turn right onto the cleared area and look for signs of a runsite over towards the trees at 7.106139° 100.578710°. If coming from Hatyai, go through the traffic lights at Kuan Hin on Kanchanavanit Road and pass the PTT station on the opposite side of the road, then turn right at the first U turn about 350m beyond it and follow the road for 900m etc.

Sunday's HH3 is definitely from Poonakan Soi 10 this week (from the Kanjanavanit/Poonakan junction, Soi 10 is about 3k up on the right, or from Wat Keow Kloy it is a little over 8k on the left shortly after 7-11, runsite at 6.998250° 100.515187°). The hare will be Robocop and the run will be an A-B so don't be late or risk missing the transport!

Before all that, on Friday evening (31st May) don't forget that there is a party at Oscars Bar in Srisuda Road to celebrate Little Tool and Toolbox's birthdays starting at 7:00 p.m. to which all hashers, past, present and future are warmly invited.

A picture is worth a thousand words and a map is even better

Here is the entrance to Saturday's SH3 run site brought to you courtesy of those clever Google people and right at the bottom of this post is a map of where to go on Sunday to get to HH3's run. So what more do you need? A thousand words might be a bit excessive but a few would help, So details of this week's SH3 run are:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1976, Saturday , May 25, 2019, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: In-u-endo, Not the Full Shilling and Worm
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 8k then right at Wat Keow Kloy into Poonakan for 1.2k and turn left (at the location illustrated) for 500m to the runsite on the left at 7.019139° 100.568958°. From the other end of Poonakan, the turning is 9.8k and is on the right.

Sunday's HH3 run is being set by Kai Jeow, Moo Sahb and Full Moon and is from the football field at Ban Sai Kao: get to the big tree and take the road into the village (on the right if coming from the Tha Kahm direction, or on the left of coming from either Wat Khun Thong or Thung Wang); after 150m go ahead (i.e. don't follow the road round to the right and stay on the concrete road all the way to the football field in about 700m at 7.033209° 100.624643°. At time of writing it would seem sensible to use the concrete pitch as the goal posts have been moved from there onto the grass pitch which may therefore now be in use again. However if parking on the grass pitch is necessary please park on the far side of the pitch, not in the area where the small goal posts have been placed.

A beautiful....

... as of course are all of Yardo's perfectly crafted, well proportioned and exquisitely executed runs!
This one will be no exception!

Details are:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1975, Saturday May 18, 2019, 4:30 p.m.
Hare: Yardstick
Misdirections: From the Kao Seng intersection take the Old Yala Road for 16k (5.3k from the NYR / OYR intersection at Ang Thong) and turn right just before Wat Kuhn Thong. Proceed for 2k along the concrete & bitumen road, then turn left and go 1.2k along the concrete & dirt road to the runsite.
For Hatyai visitors go to the big tree in the middle of the road at Ban Sai Khao, then go straight ahead past the big tree for 1.4k and turn right for 1.2k. Runsite is at:  N7° 01.922' E100° 38.514'. Take care when driving along the narrow concrete road to the runsite, as there are high drop-offs if you run off the concrete.

Sunday's HH3 run will now be from: 7°01'52.4"N 100°35'02.4"E  and the hare will be Sex Printer: From the Tha Kham crossroads head south for about 1.2k and turn left or from Wat Keow Kloy head north for about 700m and turn right. Follow the road for about 600m to the run site on the right. Map below.

At a runsite near you....

Voice over: "Egghead? Oh yeah, he's that guy who used to set a lot of runs!"

So this week's SH3 run is the come-back story - the punchy old boxer coming back for just one more fight and surprising everyone by winning the world title, or in our case the old geezer with a lifestyle problem  trying desperately to hold on to his top-hare crown in the face of challenges from the young upstarts.

Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1974, Saturday May 11th 2019, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Egghead and Harram
Misdirections: From the Kao Seng intersection, take the old Yala road for 11.8k (1k past the Angthong intersection between the old and new Yala roads) and turn right for 1.5k to the run site on the right on the football field just past Wat Kao Lam at 7.063228° 100.627933°. From Hatyai, get to the Tha Kham intersection and head east for about 6k to the big tree at Sai Kao, then follow the road round to the left for a further 2k to a set of traffic lights. Turn left for 1k then right (will be marked with a sign) and follow the road for 750m to the run site on the left.

Sunday's HH3 run is being set by Jing Reed and Sai Duan and the run site is just off Poonakan road, Ik down from Wat Keow Kloy, on the right, or 10k up from the junction with Kanjanawanit road on the left.

Even more Sticky Little Tool

This week's SH3 run is again being set by Stick Insect and (yawn!) Little Tool, who is undertaking haring duties for the 4th week in a row, thus challenging Not the Full Shilling who seemed to be hell-bent on knocking Egghead of the perch he has occupied for the last 19 years as leading hare. But now along comes Little Tool and totally dominates the hare line! I mean what is it coming to when our regular boring old hares can't even get a chance to lay a run?
Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1973, Saturday May 4, 2019, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Stick Insect and Little Tool
Misdirections: From the Kao Seng intersection, take the Old Yala Road for 5.8k. Turn right into Soi 1 (Tanon Laem Deun, which is the first soi past the turning for Wat Chamuthit). Follow the road for 750m. to the runsite on the right. If coming from Hatyai, get to Tha Kham and head east to the old Yala road via the big tree at Sai Kao either by going straight ahead for 3.5k and turning left at Wat Khun Thong or by bearing left at the big tree then driving about 3.7k, reaching the old Yala road through the market at Thung Wang (only feasible on a motorbike!) and turning left then following the old Yala road. The turning off for the runsite is 5.2k north of the Angthong intersection of the New Yala/Old Yala roads, on the left. The coordinates of the runsite are 7.127111°, 100.625056°.

Sunday's run is being set by Robocop and Sex Au Au and is from the quarry down past the big tree near Wat Khun Thong: From the OYR turn right at Wat Khun Thong and go 1k then turn right and follow the track  for about 300m to the runsite at 7.042566°100.646333°, or from Hatyai get to Tha Kham and head east towards the old Yala road passing the big tree at Sai Kao after about 6k then going ahead for another 2.5k and turning left. (Map below)

Finally, don't miss this week's quiz night which takes place on Friday (May 3) at Oscar's Bar where Stick Insect will be the quiz master having stepped in to relieve the overworked Little Tool of the duty. But LT will be our host for the evening and is promising a repeat of March's Cheese platters as refreshments plus the usual reasonably priced mega-bottles of Leo beer. The quiz starts at 8:00 p.m. Be there!
