A change of runsite

Blue line indicates the last part of the old directions ; red line is the additional bit Click to make it larger!
This afternoon's runsite has been changed to avoid our being subject to public gaze. The new runsite can be accessed by following the previously published directions but then carrying on beyond the advertised runsite for a further 650 meters (about 1.2k in all) and turning left by a house with an abandoned crane parked outside. Follow the track for about 400m to the run site. When you reach the general area of the run site it is a good idea to U turn and park along the side of the track making sure to leave enough room for other vehicles to pass.

A new lease of life

SH3 is officially reborn this weekend as in we welcome all comers rather than being rather stingy with our invites over the last couple of weeks in case we might have been breaching official guidelines about what we could do and how many of us could do it. And to mark the occasion, our not-long-ago-elected GM, Palm Job will be setting the run, ably assisted by Only a Yolk as we find out what they have been doing to one of our (least) favorite hills, Khao Wong!

Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #2022, Saturday, May 23, 2020, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Palm Job and Only a Yolk
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4k and turn left at the traffic lights just after the PTT station. Follow the road for 5.2k (including bearing sharp right after 4k) and turn left opposite the temple arch for Wat Borogam. Go 500m to the runsite opposite the big sala at  7.075075, 100.606234 (click here for Google Maps' pin).

Sunday's somewhat-reduced HH3 run will be from the same runsite as advertised last week at 7.001531° 100.555529° (click here for Google Maps' pin) From the Wat Keow Kloy end of Poonakan go about 4.8k and turn left into the turning before the crossroads immediately before Wat Tung Ngai (or from the other end of Poonakan the turning is the 2nd on the right after Wat Tungnai about 6.2 k up from the traffic lights on Kanjanawanit Rd.) Follow the road/track for about 1.6k then as the road bends to the right go ahead/left and follow the track up the hill for about 700 m to the runsite. The hare this week is Robocop and unless that changes at the last minute as it did last week, normal service should be resumed with beer sales resuming at the run site.

Officially unofficial

Today's outing will be another unofficial run after all so there will be no beer truck sales and anyone who is in need of suitable refreshment before during or after the run should make sure that they are appropriately endowed; i.e.,

If you go down to the woods...
