W(h)ither Songkhla?

With more departures of long-standing fixtures of the Songkhla social scene rumored this week there is a real end of an era feeling about the place at the moment and maybe SH3's current attendance problems are a reflection of that rather than anything else. But this Saturday with the run closer to Hatyai than Songkhla, we are being promised an influx of runners from HH3 to keep the old bull afloat for another week while our "regulars" continue to languish in foreign parts building lodges, earning money or just driving themselves to heart attacks. But it would nevertheless be highly appreciated if anyone who can, could please turn up this week, if for no other reason than to drink a few beers to try to make up for last week's beer-truck meltdown!

Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1909, Saturday January 27, 2018, 4:00 p.m.
Hares: Innuendo and All Black
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 10.2k to the Nam Noi traffic lights and turn right. After 1.1k follow the road through the market past Wat Nam Noi Nok and continue up the road for another 2.65k until you see an SH3 sign, then turn right and follow the road for 300m to the run site (coordinates 7° 05'19,30 N 100° 30'40,93 E). If you are coming from the New Hatyai road, the turning is 1.75k and is on the left.

Sunday's HH3 run will be at Super Pig's auxiliary residence near the former abattoir in Soi 10 at the PSU end of Poonakan (6.998133°N 100.515269°E). The hare is highly likely to be Robocop and/or Sex Printer as HH3 continues to suffer an acute hare shortage.

Meanwhile Friday should have been quiz night, but with Pubic Beard  still undergoing chemo (get well soon Eric!) and the Office Bar firmly shut since the staff walk-out after New Year, it looks as if that one is on ice pending better times. Shame 'cos the SH3 team were up for it with two of the three in-town members off the juice and at full intellectual strength. Let's hope for better things in February.

  1. Enjoyed the run on Saturday,(including the part I did on paper!) it's a valley that we know well, but changing the runsite makes it interesting! Well done to the GM too for insisting on a circle which was excellent! On On Gan Yao
