Short & nasty

The short one was on Saturday, supposedly set by The Pussies but really the work of Sex Sprinter. It was about 4.5km long and took 48 minutes for the frontrunners. No complaints, and a good on-after at Thung Jaeng.

The nasty one was Sunday's, advertised as being by the Sex People but the only hare we saw in action was Fuckrat. As you can see here, the basic course was interesting, but he successfully managed to avoid almost every proper trail in the area. Just over 7km if you didn't shortcut (and ironically, the only people I saw who didn't were Tsunami and me), and it took 1:20 including a leisurely beer stop.

In rust we trust

The pussies have got their act together this week so Saturday will be the traditional Pussy birthday run, minus a couple of the birthday girls who have departed permanently or temporarily for the bright lights of Bangkok or KL.

Songkhla Hash House Harriers run # 1789, Saturday 26th September 2015, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Crackwurst, Meals on Wheels, Swings and Roundabouts and Ork Dork
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.6k and turn left for 6k then turn left for about 4.5k to the run site on the right opposite the new ATV track.

Sunday's (September 27th: 4:20'ish) HH3 run is a Sex people affair and directions are something like: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.6k and turn left for 8k then right (at Wat Keow Kloy into Poonakan) for about 6k then turn right and go about 400 meters to the run site on the left opposite Tungnai school.

Finally, there is a quiz night at the Office Bar on Friday 25th at 8:00 p.m.when the intellectual might of SH3 will be on display again as they attempt to make it 4-in-a-row. Come along and support or better still join another team and help to bring an end to this burdensome record!

Combining the twin obsessions of selfies and eating, this has to be the ultimate product for Hatyai Hash: the Selfie Spoon. Now you'll never again have an excuse for taking a photo of yourself without some food in your mouth!

No hill, no sex, no beer

Do something twice in a row at SH3 and it is close to becoming a tradition. Yesterday's oh-so-flat run with a total ascent of just 44 meters, was even flatter than last week's, suggesting that hare, Egghead is becoming hill-averse. The Sex Printer-less pack seemed to find most of the checks pretty easy, so it couldn't have taken much more than an hour for the 7k, particularly as there was no beer stop to slow things down. Praise was muted.
The 3k short run was graced by Jannine who, guided round by Raccoon Ass and the returning Kee Ling, didn't get lost, and also by the rare sight of Peppered Pussy breaking into a jog. The pack dispersed slowly after the circle only finally giving up when the beer ran out. Should it be otherwise?

Autohare again.

There were mumblings last weekend about the postponed pussy run taking place this weekend, and it could still happen. It only needs one of them to take the initiative, make a few phone calls and some encouraging and/or vaguely enthusiastic noises, promise to buy the gai yang and it could all magically fall into place. But let's get real: it ain't likely!
So autohare, who was anyhow down to act as technical advisor, will swing seamlessly into action. Details are:

Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #1788, Saturday 19th September 2015, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Egghead and Haram
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 4.2k then left for 1.9k, then left for a third time for 400m to the run site in the middle of the white dirt road! If you are coming from Hatyai, get to the Ta Kham crossroads and head North (towards the Old Hatyai road) but turn right after 1.9k and go another 1.9k before turning left for 400m to the run site.
Sunday's HH3 run is  in the capable hands of Sex Printer and Sex of the Man and the run site is in the vicinity if Kuan Samroot: from Wat Keow Kloy, take Poonakan for 5k and turn left just before Wat Tungnai then go 2,3k and turn left and follow the road for up to 1.5k to the run site.

...this!

Here's run 1787: about 5.5k with barely 70 meters ascent and a maximum height of 55m. Even with the beer stop the FRB's were home in less than an hour. The short run was 3.5k and apart from the group who missed the paper and rejoined the in trail, most takers made it through the deluge in an hour or less.

Life is just one long party!

This weekend's SH3 run will be a joint run with Penang Mens H3 who will be visiting us en masse and there will be a run with a party to follow at Thung Jaeng at a special all-in subsidized price of 250 Baht for SH3 and HH3 members (100 Baht for kids, 400 Baht for guests) which will cover the run fee, dinner and beer; or just come along for the run at the regular price of 60 Baht and leave the rest of us to do all the heavy partying! Entertainment includes Karaoke, and some inter-hash games and there seems to be an outside chance that the Boyotes may make a surprise reappearance  as we all enjoyed last week's exercise in cross-dressing so much!

Misdirections: From The Kao Seng intersection take the old Yala road for 11k and turn right at the Ang Thong intersection into the new Yala road for 1.4k to the Tung Jaeng restaurant on the left. (If you are coming from the Ko Yo intersection take the the new Yala road towards the Ang Thong intersection and take the final U turn (just before Ang Thong and go back westwards for about 1.3k)

Sunday's (13th September) HH3 run will be from Kuan Jong: take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 8k then turn right (at Wat Keow Kloy into Poonakan) for 7.5k and turn left into the Ban Nai Rai turning. Follow the road for about 3.5k then turn left and go about 300m to the run site on the right. The hares are rumored to be Sex of the Man and Sex Tour X.

This afternoon's HH3 run

This afternoon's hare(s) have chosen a pleasant wooded hillside near a gently burbling brook which descends down a spectacular valley cut deep into the clefted hills. Aaaagh!
In your dreams, buddy. The hare is Sex Star so you can assume that there will be no quarter given as we again tackle the eastern flank of Kao Ko Hong from the run site just about accessible by turning left off of the old Hatyai road (right if you are coming from Hatyai itself) about 4k past the Nam Noi traffic lights, between the park and the golf course, recognizable by the presence of the Marlboro car detailing shop at the main road end. Never mind, it should be enough to wipe away any lingering remnants of this morning's hangover as well as sweating off last night's lipstick and false beards.

Softy's Farewell Run

 

The long and short run contributed by the Softy family as their farewell gesture, temporarily we hope, prior to them leaving for warmer climes farther south. The long run was 7.8kms with a surprising amount of upwards totalling 141m although only rising to just 24m in maximum height. In comparison the short run was 3.4m but with a total ascent of only 18m (does that make it a flat run?)
The long run was set in it's entirety by virgin hares Hip Hop, Rock & Roll and Long Beach, acccompanied by Softcock & Temporary Relief, with Yardstick along for the walk as advisor.
This was followed by free beers after, and during the run, and lots more free alcohol and food at the restaurant following the circle. I'm sure there will be a lot more said  about this in later posts, along with usual collection of nasty photos. Goodbye guys and hurry back.

Parting is such a pain in the...

...As most people are probably aware, the rumor that Soft Cock, and Temporary Relief along with offspring Hip Hop and Rock & Roll are set to depart from Songkhla is sadly true, and although they will for the time being only be just down the road in Kuala Lumpur, their attendance at SH3 is likely to be much less frequent for the foreseeable future.


To mark their departure, there will be a special run on Saturday followed by dinner at Ruan Ban Ya, which is the restaurant located beside the Post Office near the Ko Yo intersection, and all the food and booze will be provided by Softy and Temp. The party will be themed "His and Hers" which loosely involves a degree of cross-dressing for the evening.There will be forfeits for anyone not able to demonstrate at least one item of sexually inappropriate attire!

Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the new Yala road for 800 meters and turn left for 400m to the runsite on the left.

Following the circle which will take place fairly swiftly after the end of the run, there will be a room available at the nearby Top Club Hotel where anyone wanting to shower  and change can do so. Arrival at the restaurant for dinner is recommended at 6:30 for 7 p.m.

Sunday's HH3 run is in the capable hands of the good lord above who no doubt will delegate it to someone suitable like Sex Star in time for an announcement to be made on Saturday. Should details emerge earlier they will be posted here.
