Happy birthday to....

This week's SH3 run is being set from a new runsite formerly considered to be more appropriate as a beer stop, which presumably means that more beer than usual will be consumed.... and coincidentally, the TOS team can exclusively reveal that we will be celebrating a significant birthday this Saturday (see above for a hint) so there may be some extra beer to consume.
Details are as follows:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #2016, Saturday February 29, 2020, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Not the Full Shilling, Worm, All Black and Mai Dtem Baht
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 8k then right into Poonakan for about 300m and turn left at the hash sign. Follow the road for about 200m and turn left at the next hash sign, then follow the road/track for 1.5k to the run site at 7.014381, 100.572424. Click here for Google Maps' pin. For anyone coming from the other end of Poonakan, the turning is about 10.7k up on the right.
Sunday's HH3 run is being set by Sex Au Au from near Wat Thungnai: From Wat Keoy Kloy take Poonakan for 5k and turn left just before Wat Tungnai for 750m to the run site on the right at 7.001020° 100.543494°. As you can see by checking the right side-bar panel, SH3 has a brand new committee headed by a brand new GM, Palm Job, who in keeping with time-honored hash tradition was elected based on coming second in the non-binding pre-election people's poll. Otherwise it's largely as-you-were, with former GM Lot Rakaa shifting to the position of Hash Nerd, which was vacated by All Black who becomes Beer Butch's Bitch.

In case anyone cannot make this afternoon's SH3 run (and doctor's certificates and/or notarized statements of absence will be expected next week!) but would still like to participate in today's erection in relation to the post of GM, here is the voting form which will be distributed at today's run. The form is available here and you can simply scroll down and enter your preference for GM in the next vacant slot. All the votes (and we are being optimistic here!) will be printed out and added to those collected at the run site, so please be honest and don't vote if you will be at the runsite today in time for the erection. Votes should only be for named and reasonably active (i.e. they have been to the hash within living memory) SH3 runners, so sadly Donald Trump and Mickey Mouse as well as any other real or fictional non-named SH3 hashers are not eligible.

80 years young

This sprightly looking youth, for those of you who haven't been around in Songkhla as long as some of us have, is Spotted Dick with his lovely wife Time of the Montha. Amazingly (how can it be true?) Spotted Dick will become an octogenarion  this Sunday and is in Songkhla to celebrate the occasion. So he will be at the SH3 run on Saturday and will be throwing a party at a restaurant in Talle Luang (a.k.a. Wachira) in Songkhla on Sunday evening.

Spotted Dick is currently the leading holder of the accolade (or booby prize, not sure which!) of being GM of SH3, having held the office on no less than six occasions. So his presence on Saturday is timely as we will be holding the annual erection before the run at about 4:20. So if you haven't already added your or someone else's name to the growing list of nominations for high office then please do so as a comment to this post or by e mail.

Hares: Yardstick and Buck
Misdirections: From the Kao Seng intersection take the old Yala road south for 17.7 km (7 km from the NYR / OYR intersection at Ang Thong) and turn right just after Thang Khwai School, just before the bus shelter with the bright yellow roof. Proceed for 3.3 km, through the small village and along the gravel track, then turn RIGHT for 200 m and turn right again to the runsite at N7.0101°  E100.6452°. Click here for Google Maps' pin

From Hatyai, make your way via Tha Kham and the ”Big Tree” to Wat Khun Thong on the old Yala road. Turn right and head south on the OYR for 1.7 km, then turn right just after Thang Khwai School, and follow the directions above. Alternatively, take Route 43 east for 20.6 km from the Khlong Wa intersection (i.e., the big junction after Macro), or 7.8 km from the Phichit Road junction. Turn left for 2.7 km along the concrete road, and turn left for 200 m along the dirt road to the run site.

Sunday's HH3 runsite is rumored to be the football pitch at Tung Ngai on Poonakan Rd and the hares are believed to be Syntax Error and friends. Confirmation and any other details will be added later.

Pussy runs normally take place later in the year but with the current hare crisis in full swing, the pussies have stepped into the breach this Saturday to set the SH3 run. details of which are:

Hares: (at least) Only a Yolk, Super Pig and Meals on Wheels
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo Intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 6k then at the Tha Kham traffic lights turn left towards the big tree and go 5k. Turn left under the temple arch for about 200 m and turn left again, then follow the track for 350m to the runsite on the left at 7.042205° 100.615756° (click here for Google Maps' pin). If coming from the old Yala road take the 16k turn off right and go 4.5k (1k beyond the big tree) and go right under the temple arch etc. Other routes are possible!
Sundays HH3 run is to be set by Robocop but the location will have to be advised later. Meanwhile Friday is Valentines Day and to mark the occasion, this months quiz night will take place at Oscars Bar at 8 p.m. with that old romantic, Egghead, alias teacher Mick setting the questions. Some special guests are promised including the return of Sex of the Mouse, a.k.a. Short Screw and all the proceeds go to a good cause, viz the battered women and children's refuge at Ko Yo. So please come along and support/take part/ buy beer from mein host and hostess, Kan Kai and Hot Buns

Home from home

Here is Saturday's SH3 runsite which is a first although HH3 have held runs here in the past. Rumor has it that no less than eight SH3/HH3 hashers live within walking distance of the run site so expect a big turnout!

Songkhla Hash House Harriers run # 2013, Saturday, February 8, 2020, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Worm, Not the Full Shilling and Vermicelli
Misdirections: From the Ko Yo intersection take the old Hatyai road for 4.7k and turn left for 8k, then turn right at the traffic lights at Wat Keow Kloy into Poonakan Road and go 6.1k and turn left into Phudan Valley to the runsite on the right at 7°00'06.7"N 100°31'53.4"E. Click here for Google Maps' pin. From the other end of Poonakan Road, Phudan Valley is about 5k and on the right.

Sunday's HH3 run is being set by Sex Printer and Toy Boy and will be from somewhere along the new road that last week's SH3 run briefly sampled just before the beer stop. Access is from just before Wat Nern Pijit, 2.9k past the traffic lights at Wat Keo Kloy. Turn left at the hash sign (click here for Google Maps' pin) and follow the road for quite a long way until you see signs of a runsite. Map below

2012: Return of the Twin Towers

Saturday's SH3 runsite is a short trip down the old Yala road and the turning off is shown above for anyone who hasn't done it before. 

Details are:
Songkhla Hash House Harriers' run #2012, Saturday, February 1st, 2020, 4:30 p.m.
Hares: Yardstick and Buck
Misdirections: From the Kao Seng intersection take the Old Yala Road south for 17.6 km (6.9 km from the NYR / OYR (Ang Thong) intersection, then turn right onto the concrete road just before the entrance to the new mosque (where the white car is shown exiting in the photo)

Proceed 3.7 kms along the concrete road, through the village following hash signs, then turn right along the dirt road for 500 m.

If coming from Hatyai, proceed along the New Chana Road for 20.6 kms from the overpass on the Kanchanwanit Road (Khlong Wa intersection), or 7.8 kms from the Phichit road junction. Turn left at the hash sign for 1.8 kms along the concrete road, and turn left for 500m along the dirt road.

Sunday's HH3 run is being set from the big sala behind the CP factory: from Songkhla take the old Hatyai road for 6.5 k beyond the Ko Yo intersection and do a U turn then come back 100 m and turn left along the wall of the CP factory for 1 k to the runsite on the right at N7.086552° E 100.545275°. Sex-toy run

This week's SH3 run features the Sex Sprinter-Buk Toy combination in another one of those first-time-this-year runs, from one of our best loved runsites opposite the Sai Kao resort, and in view of the good weather and longer days this year, the start time will be put back 15 minutes to 4:15 in anticipation of getting back to our normal start time in February.

Misdirections: From Songkhla, either take the 16k right turn off the old Yala road at Wat Khun Thong and go 5.3k, then turn left into the run site at 7°02'22.7"N 100°36'32.7"E, or take the old Hatyai road for 4.7 k from the Ko Yo intersection and turn left, then go 6k and turn left at the Tha Kham traffic lights for 4k to the runsite on the right. HH3 Sunday, 19-1-20

Sunday's HH3 runsite is as per the map above: From Songkhla, take the 4.7k turning left off of the OHR and follow it for about 13k until you hit Route 43. Turn right for 4.5k to the Nam Om traffic lights and turn left for 3.3k then take a right turn which should be marked with a hash sign and follow the road for 1.7k including about 700m round the perimeter of a lake, to the runsite at 6°55'32.7"N 100°31'45.2"E Click here for Google Maps' pin.
